IV's are actually working!

My coughs clearing up, my lung pain has vanished. I'm impressed with the quickness of them this time. They're not usually this quick. Usually it takes a week to kick in.

I'm on the antibiotics that I'm usually put on- Ceftazadime and Tobramycin. Ceftaz is an easy Bolus, where as Tobra is through drip as it has to go in over more than half an hour.

Paul's making my IV's up for me, I'm administering them.

So, I have twice a day:
10mls Saline
3g's Ceftazadime in 30mls water for injection
10mls saline
5mls Hepsal

Then once a day I have:
5 mls Saline
3g's Ceftazadime with 30mls water for injection
5mls Saline
12.5ml Tobramycin in 100mls of saline, made up into a Bupa drug eclipse thingy.
10mls Saline
5mls Hepsal

My IV times are at 8am, 4pm and 10pm. They're getting tiring and boring, but they're working so I can live with that.

Home IV's are definately a better thing than hospital care. Especially when you have someone who can play nurse for you. So your role only has to be minimal-such as administering the meds rather than making them up to......Or perhaps I'm just lazy:P
